27 December 2005 :  A number of outstanding updates have been done, to try to bring the site back on track. There's a new competition for January (here), another SAEC Raven image (here), updated FAQ and Nexus tables. Also, we're aiming to release MLE6 at the end of January - stay posted for further updates on this.

25 December 2005 :  Merry Christmas to you all!

10 November 2005 :
We here at the Missing Link Expansion website have been working hard over last few months to bring you new and exciting features to broaden and enhance your Highlander game experience. We have recently added Starter Decks to our Virtual Pack Generator including new MLE versions of the 9 basic attacks and 6 basic defenses. We have also added a new GameHelper feature to our chat room that greatly enhances the online play of Highlander CCG by giving you the ability to format your turn text in a clear logical fashion and also add important visual markers like Attack and Defense Grids. Now that these enhancements are finally finished, we'd like to showcase them by having a tournament!!

Announcing the first MLE Sealed Deck tournament!

The rules for this tournament are as follows:
Each player will get a starter deck and 2 booster packs selectable from any of the 5 full-size MLE sets including Missing Link Expansion, MacLeod Chronicles, Brothers in Arms, Soldiers of Immortality, and World Without End. Each Starter pack will additionally contain 3 random MLE "toolbox" cards that can only be found in these tournament starter decks. Here is the list of available "toolbox" cards -

  • Extra Weapon
  • Recover Weapon
  • Police (prevent Damage)
  • Police(Remove Sit)
  • Pedestrian (No attacks)
  • Misfortune
  • Head Shot
  • Interference
  • Holy Ground - Forfeit (Location)
  • Investigation
  • Narrow Escape
  • Get away from it all
  • Stamina
  • Watcher - Heal
Tournament packs will be generated by the tourney administrator (Thorr) using a modified version of our own Pack Generator that will create packs based on the full list of cards in each set. A list of the cards in your packs will be sent to you and will be kept on file.
The tournament will be a single elimination grid. All wins are considered to be Kills for Tourney Purposes, but not for NEXUS purposes so that you can rob someone of a Head Shot with Holy Ground - Forfeit. The winner of a match will get to add their opponent's 3 packs of cards to their own and will be allowed to re-construct their deck as they wish for the next round. The list of cards that a player has won will be sent to the player by the tourney administrator.

    Deck Construction Rules -

  • Each person will play a Generic Immortal in the sense that no Persona cards will be used. If you receive Persona pre-game cards in your packs, including Generic Immortal cards, you may use them as Quickenings.
  • Players will be allowed to use any and all cards from their packs regardless of Persona, Reserved, or Signature status. Restriction numbers still apply to titles and to Restricted cards. For example, you can use a Back Away from any persona, but you still can only have 6 in your deck. You can still only have 1 Dismember in your deck since it's S1.
  • You must build a standard size deck using only with an Endurance of at least 50 cards (Pre-Games excluded).
  • Since MLE Premiums and Pre-Game cards come in 2 pieces (a Back and a Front), only 1 piece will be necessary for you to use the card. You need only to have the Front OR the Back and not both. This being a Sealed Deck tournament, we'd like to encourage participants to play their games publicly in the MLE chat room using the new GameHelper.
To join this tournament, please contact Thorr, the tournament administrator, at thorr69@maine.rr.com. Please include valid online contact information. Registration for the tournament will close on Thursday Nov 17. Sealed decks will be generated on Friday Nov 18 and the first round will begin on Monday Nov 21. Please register ASAP!

23 October 2005 :  All Highlander MLE cards have been migrated to the mleccg.com domain. Please udpate your card links using the following formula -
    replace "members.lycos.co.uk/mleccg" with "www.mleccg.com"
    replace "membres.lycos.fr/dibarboure" with "www.mleccg.com"
    replace "members.lycos.fr/mlewebteam" with "www.mleccg.com"
WOT and ComixBattle cards will be migrated shortly.

22 October 2005 :  We have a few things to report before the end of the month.
First, the DOUBLE EAGLE Promo Swords will be retired on November 1. They will be replaced by 6 all new DE Promo Swords. At that time, all members will start the Clover hunt from scratch once again. Be sure to get your requests in for the current DE Promo Swords before November 1!!!
Second, the Tamago(Ri)chie game has undergone many changes. Some of them are already up and running, but the rest of them will be made public on November 1. At that time, all Richies saved to the server will be cleared. The new features require a change in the save format of the Richie code. In order to avoid crazy results and corrupted Richies, they must be cleared. We suggest that you cash in your Richies before the end of the month.
Third, we are currently in the process of migrating all MLE data from all other server locations to this one. This will mean that all MLE data will be brought into one server resulting in greater ease of maintenance and expansion. This will also mean that as cards and pages are migrated, links may go dead and other unforseen issues may arise. We will announce the movement of Card links to their new locations as we move them. These will be done in Sets and will require that your card links be updated with the new domain name in order to function. If you find missing pages or broken links as you navigate the MLE site, please notify the Webmaster or an Administrator so that we can remedy the problem ASAP.
We hope you are all enjoying the rapidly evolving experience here. More great things are still to come. As always, sending us your suggestions and comments is greatly encouraged. We are committed to making your experience here the best it can be.
    Have fun, everyone!
